Citrus College Women's Soccer tied Antelope Valley College 1-1 in Tuesday night's conference matchup at Citrus Stadium.

With the draw, the Owls move to 7-5-4 overall and 5-1-4 in conference play, while the Marauders stand at 4-7-6 overall and 3-3-3 in conference. Much like the October 3rd meeting between the two teams—which also ended in a tie—Tuesday's match finished even, this time with a 1-1 scoreline.

Citrus opened the match with strong pace and intensity, winning tackles and pushing forward with dangerous attacking runs. The Owls nearly took the lead when Andrea Meza broke free on a breakaway, but her shot beat the Marauders' goalkeeper and struck the post. Moments later, a handball in the box by an AVC defender led to a Citrus penalty kick, which Bridget Ward calmly converted for her sixth goal of the season. The Owls held a 6-3 advantage in shots through the first half and took a 1-0 lead into the break.

Antelope Valley came out aggressive to start the second half and found the equalizer just two minutes in, scoring in the 47th minute to make it 1-1. From there, both teams battled for control, creating chances on both ends. Citrus continued to press, taking eight shots in the second half, including a second penalty kick in the 73rd minute that was narrowly missed.

Ward finished with two shots on goal, converting one. Alexia Leon was active throughout the attack with four shots on goal, while Aubrianna Mejia narrowly missed a pair of free kicks that sailed just over the crossbar. Layla Serrato added several strong attacking runs late in the match. In goal, Liliana Miramontes was solid once again, recording five saves on six shots faced.

Citrus will now travel to face conference rival Santa Monica College on Thursday, October 30, at 3 p.m. in what should be another physical and competitive matchup.
