Citrus College Women's Soccer fell to Long Beach City College, 7–0, in Saturday's 3C2A Women's Soccer Southern California Regional Round Two matchup on November 22 in Long Beach.
Just three days removed from earning the program's first-ever postseason victory—a 1–1 (5–4 PK) win at Santa Monica College in Round One—the Owls saw their playoff run halted by the No. 3–ranked Vikings. Long Beach entered the contest at 18–1–1 and as the 2025 South Coast Conference Champions.
Citrus closes the 2025 season with a 10–8–4 overall record, while LBCC advances to Round Three of the SoCal Regionals to face conference rival Mt. SAC. The matchup will mark the teams' third meeting this season, with the Vikings having won both prior contests by identical 2–1 scores.
Long Beach opened Saturday's match with a relentless first-half attack, scoring six times before the break. The Vikings—who averaged 3.26 goals per match this season and produced seven five-goal performances—added a late second-half goal to secure the 7–0 result.
Despite the loss, the Owls delivered one of the most memorable campaigns in program history. Citrus notched key wins over College of the Canyons, Bakersfield, West LA, and Santa Monica (both in conference play and the postseason), while averaging 1.55 goals per match on 11 shots per contest and allowing just 1.21 goals per match defensively. The Owls finished with 31 goals on the year, led by Bridget Ward (8), Layla Serrato (6), Alexia Leon (4), Andrea Meza (4), Angelina Gonzalez (2), and Mikani Telles (2).
With back-to-back postseason appearances now under their belt, Citrus will look to build on this year's success and pursue a third consecutive trip to the 3C2A Playoffs in 2026.
