Balanced Attack Sends No. 4 Citrus Past No. 17 ELAC, 113–80

No. 4-ranked Citrus College Men's Basketball delivered a statement win on Friday, December 12, rolling past No. 17 East Los Angeles College 113–80 to earn its 10th victory of the season. The Owls improved to 10–1 overall, while the Huskies dropped to 5–4.

The game was tightly contested through the opening 10 minutes of the first half, featuring four ties between the Owls and Huskies. Citrus took control late in the half behind a dominant performance from Rockwell Reynolds, who was unstoppable before the break. Reynolds poured in 15 first-half points on an efficient 7-of-8 shooting, including 1-of-1 from beyond the arc, while adding two rebounds and a block. Leo Ricketts matched him with 15 first-half points of his own, knocking down 3-of-4 from three-point range.

Citrus' offense was elite in the first half, shooting 22-of-33 from the field, 8-of-12 from deep, and 7-of-9 at the free-throw line. The Owls also forced nine ELAC turnovers, turning defense into offense to build a commanding 59–39 halftime lead.

The Owls remained poised in the second half, continuing to apply pressure on both ends of the floor. Citrus extended its lead to as many as 37 points late in the game as the defense forced 10 more turnovers, leading to transition buckets and efficient shooting (23-of-40 from the field, 5-of-11 from three). Dev Hamilton had a strong second half, scoring 14 points while adding three assists and two rebounds. Reynolds stayed hot with 11 second-half points as Citrus cruised to the 113–80 victory, eclipsing the 100-point mark for the eighth time this season.

Overall, Citrus shot an impressive 45-of-70 from the field, 13-of-23 from three-point range, and 10-of-16 from the free-throw line. The Owls limited ELAC to 32-of-71 shooting and just 8-of-25 from beyond the arc. Citrus also dominated key areas, scoring 30 points off turnovers compared to ELAC's 11 and outscoring the Huskies 64–42 in the paint.

Reynolds led all scorers with 26 points—his second-highest output of the season—while adding five rebounds and two blocks. Amiri Meadows finished with 18 efficient points, a game-high seven assists, four steals, and five rebounds. Hamilton chipped in a season-best 19 points along with six rebounds and three assists. Ricketts added 17 points, two assists, and two rebounds.

JJ Sanchez contributed eight points, four rebounds, four assists, and a steal, while Alek Sanchez provided a spark off the bench with 12 points on 3-of-4 shooting from beyond the arc, along with six assists, three rebounds, a block, and a steal. Brady Orr and Grayson Boustead were both perfect from the field, scoring five points each.

Citrus will head north next for a matchup with Fresno City College on Monday, December 16, with tip-off scheduled for 3 p.m.
