Men's Basketball Secure First Conference Win of Season
The Citrus College Men's Basketball team picked up a 98-86 win over Antelope Valley College last night in their first conference game of the season.
Citrus College improves to 13-2 overall on the season and 0-1 in conference games while Antelope Valley College moves to 8-7 overall and 0-1 in conference.
The Owls jumped out to their largest lead in the game of 22 points late in the first half before going into halftime up 45-29. Although the Marauders outscored the Owls 57-53 in the second half, Citrus held on to earn the win.
The Owls turned in a balanced effort, led by Tyler Isaak's 26 points, 10 rebounds, a game-high six steals and three assists. KJ Perry went for 20 points on 7-of-12 from the field and 3-of-4 from three while adding three assists, two rebounds and two steals. Brady Cook dropped 13 points off the bench with four rebounds, two steals and one assist while Ryan Raad went 2-of-4 from three-point range on his way to eight points, one block, one rebound and one steal. Brandon Suber led the Owls in assists with seven and added four points, four rebounds and three steals.
Citrus College will play two more conference games in the next three days as they host LA Valley tomorrow, January 13th at 7 p.m., a game that was postponed last week due to the wildfires before hosting College of the Canyons this Wednesday, January 15th at 7 p.m.
