Women's Water Polo Grab Another Conference Win
The Citrus College Women's Water Polo team hosted Santa Monica College last Wednesday, October 9th to pick up a 21-4 conference win.
The Owls move to 7-11 on the season and 2-1 in conference while Santa Monica College falls to 0-15 overall and 0-3 in conference play.
In the win, Citrus College had eight of their players score goals, five scored multiple.
Led by Kori Cunningham who scored five goals in the game, the Owls got out to an early 8-0 lead in the first quarter. In the second quarter both Trinity Hulet and Maryeon Reedy scored two goals as the Owls went up 13-2 at halftime.
Citrus scored four goals in the third and fourth quarters to earn a dominant conference win.
Kori Cunningham scored five goals and added three steals, Elizabeth Walls scored three goals and added five assists, Trinity Hulet scored four goals and had two assists, Maryeon Reedy scored four goals, Ryan Price scored two goals and added three assists, while Marieona Reedy recorded a team-high six steals in the game.
Goalies Natalie Abril and Katelyn Wright each recorded a save in a game in which the Owls defense only allowed Santa Monica College six shots.
Citrus College will host be hosts to the Citrus College Tournament this week with games on Friday, October 18th, and Saturday October 19th.
