Four Owls Earn All-Conference Honors After Breakthrough Volleyball Season
Coming off a milestone season in which Citrus College Women's Volleyball posted a 15–13 overall record — the program's most wins since 2017 — and returned to the 3C2A Southern California Regionals for the first time in 13 years, four Owls have been recognized with Western State Conference South All-Conference honors. Freshman standout Sophia Martinez earned First-Team honors, freshman Emma Cristales earned Second-Team honors, and sophomores Aaliyah Janae Freeman and Sammi Rivard were each named Honorable Mention.
Freshman outside hitter Sophia Martinez delivered one of the conference's top all-around seasons, appearing in 98 sets and finishing with 357 kills (1st in WSC South), 390 digs (2nd), 48 assists, 34 aces and seven blocks. She also led the conference with 3.64 kills per set, cementing herself as one of the region's most impactful first-year players.
Freshman outside hitter Emma Cristales, a Bishop Amat High School product, was a consistent force throughout the season and earned Second-Team honors after playing in 100 sets. Cristales ranked among the conference's best with 270 kills (3rd), while adding 178 digs, 30 aces, 16 blocks and six assists. Her 2.7 kills per set ranked fourth in the WSC South.
