Owls Earn Third Conference Win with 3–1 Victory Over Glendale
Citrus College Volleyball picked up its third conference win of the season with a 3–1 victory (25–12, 23–25, 25–23, 25–17) over Glendale College on Friday, October 17.
With the win, the Owls improve to 11–9 overall and 3–3 in conference play.
Citrus came out strong in the opening set, dominating 25–12 before Glendale battled back to beat the Owls 25–23 in the second. The third set was another tight contest, but Citrus held on for a 25–23 win before closing out the match decisively with a 25–17 victory in the fourth.
Sophia Martinez led the way with a match-high 22 kills, while also adding 12 digs (tied for team-high), three aces, and two assists. Emma Cristales contributed seven kills, while Naomi Dominguez added six and Kaiah Wilson chipped in five. Cristales and Dominguez each tallied two solo blocks and one block assist to anchor the Owls' defense at the net.
Sammi Rivard matched Martinez with 12 digs and added two aces, two assists, and a kill. Lily Whitney directed the offense with a game-high 19 assists, while also recording six aces, four digs, and a kill.
Citrus returns home to host College of the Canyons tomorrow, Tuesday, October 22, at 6 p.m. in another key conference matchup.
