Santa Monica, CA (Women's Soccer) -- The Citrus College Women's Soccer team kept their stellar 2012 season rolling on Friday afternoon as they opened up Western State Conference South Division play at Santa Monica College. The Owls remained undefeated and picked up a crucial 2-1 win over the host Corsairs in the opener.

The Owls got all over the Corsairs from the get go scoring less than two minutes into the game when sophomore Jasmine Williams connected with sophomore Julia Wills to make it 1-0. The Owls would hang on to that lead until they extended it early in the second half, as sophomore Elizabeth Johnson scored on a penalty kick that Williams helped draw, to make it 2-0.

Santa Monica would turn it on late, scoring in the 88th minute to cut the Owls lead in half. Again the Corsairs would have a good chance in stoppage time as they drew a penalty kick. Freshman keeper Domonique Oro came up huge though, blocking the PK and preserving the 2-1 victory.

With the win, Citrus improves to 6-0-2 on the year and 1-0 in WSC South play. Citrus will be on the road again on Tuesday when they travel to Valley Glen to take on LA Valley College. The match is set for a 4:00 PM start time.
