Softball Lands Nine All-Conference Selections, Set to Host Playoffs for First Time Since 2015
Nine Citrus College Softball athletes were selected as All–Western State Conference South honorees.
Jaelynn Eaves, Alivia Martinez and Grace Twente were named to the Western State Conference South First Team. Jocelyn Escobedo, Anaya Burley and Brooke Whiteman earned Second Team honors, while Alijah Aranda, Brissa Ayon and Mia Godoy received All-Conference Honorable Mention recognition.
Eaves, a sophomore third baseman, finished the regular season batting .447 with a state-leading 71 RBIs—a program single-season record—along with 63 hits, 48 runs, 14 doubles, nine home runs and four stolen bases.
Martinez, a sophomore right fielder, also delivered a historic season, finishing with a .476 batting average, 70 runs, 68 hits, 43 RBIs, 21 doubles, eight home runs, seven triples and 38 stolen bases, while recording 95 putouts defensively. She is the program's all-time leader in stolen bases and holds single-season records for runs scored and stolen bases.
Twente, a freshman outfielder, led the Owls with a .457 batting average, totaling 64 hits, 55 runs, 29 stolen bases, 18 walks, 16 RBIs and nine doubles.
Escobedo, a freshman outfielder, hit .333 with 40 hits, 32 runs, 24 RBIs, 15 stolen bases, 10 walks and 10 doubles.
Burley, a freshman outfielder, finished with a .398 batting average, adding 35 hits, 29 runs, 21 RBIs, 11 stolen bases, five home runs, six doubles and eight walks.
Whiteman, a sophomore catcher, started all 40 games for the Owls and batted .372 with six home runs, seven doubles, two triples, 35 runs, 35 RBIs, three stolen bases and 42 hits.
Aranda, a sophomore infielder, totaled 22 hits, 17 runs, 14 RBIs, 12 walks, four doubles and one home run, while contributing 31 putouts and 71 assists defensively.
Ayon, a freshman pitcher, started 36 games and posted 21 wins with one save. She threw 23 complete games and recorded 55 strikeouts over 201 innings pitched.
Godoy, a sophomore first baseman, finished the regular season batting .358 with 43 hits, 20 runs, 45 RBIs, five doubles, two home runs, 14 walks and two stolen bases. Defensively, she recorded 322 putouts at first base with a .985 fielding percentage.
The No. 6-seeded Owls are set to host No. 10-seeded Saddleback College in the 2026 3C2A Softball Regional Round 1, a best-of-three series beginning Friday, May 1 at 5 p.m. Games two and three (if necessary) will be played Saturday, May 2 at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. It marks the program's first time hosting a postseason series since 2015.
