After two hard-fought playoff battles, the #11-seeded Citrus College Softball team concluded its 2025 campaign with a 5-0 loss to #6-seeded Cerritos College on Saturday, May 3, in Game 2 of the 3C2A Southern California Regional first-round series.

The Owls finish the season with a 24-18 overall record—their second-highest win total in the past eight years—and captured the Western State Conference-South title with an impressive 10-2 conference mark.

In Saturday's must-win contest, Citrus battled but fell behind 3-0 in the third inning. Cerritos added insurance runs in the fifth and seventh to seal the victory. The Owls collected three hits and drew three walks but left six runners stranded, unable to capitalize on their scoring chances.

Offensively, Jaelynn Eaves, Madelyn Hajj, and Rylee Praytor each went 1-for-3. Bailey Aguilar, Breanna Aguilar, and Ava Camarena each worked a walk. On defense, shortstop Sofia Femath and Hajj combined for a double play—mirroring a defensive highlight from Game 1 on Friday.

Caitlin Kelley (L, 18-13) threw all seven innings, allowing five earned runs while striking out three. Kelley's 192.1 innings pitched this season ranks 8th in the State.

Cerritos advances to face #3-seeded Palomar College in the next round of regional play.

With back-to-back postseason appearances, the Owls look ahead to 2026 with momentum and high hopes for a third consecutive playoff run.
