Softball Wins Big in San Bernardino

Citrus College Softball picked up their second win of the season yesterday, Tuesday, January 30th as they defeated San Bernardino Valley College 13-2 in five innings. 

Citrus College moves 2-2 overall on the season while San Bernardino Valley College goes to 2-1 overall on the season. 

The Owls scored at the top of the first inning as Rylee Praytor hit a perfect bunt to first base which scored Ava Camarena, putting the Owls up 1-0. The Wolverines responded with two runs in the bottom of the second to go up 2-1. 

Citrus College put up four runs in the top of the third inning to take a 5-2 lead thanks to a Rylee Praytor RBI single, and Eliana Lopez RBI sacrifice fly, a Hailey Hernandez RBI groundout, and a Harmony Torres RBI single. 

The Owls added four more runs in both the top of the fourth and fifth innings, ending the game after five innings as Citrus held a 13-2 lead. 

Rylee Praytor led the Owls, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored and four RBIs. Eliana Lopez went 2-for-3 with four RBIs and one run scored while Harmony Torres went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. 

Caitlin Kelley got the win, pitching three scoreless innings with two strikeouts, only allowing one hit. 

Citrus College returns home tomorrow, Friday, January 31st as they host Orange Coast College for a doubleheader, game one will start at 4 p.m. and game two will start at 6:30 p.m.
