Citrus College Men's Water Polo wrapped up its 2025 season last Thursday, November 6 in Ventura at the Western State Conference Championships, falling in a tight first-round matchup to Santa Monica College, 13-12.

The Owls close the season at 6-17 overall and 1-4 in WSC play.

Thursday's contest was a battle throughout, as Citrus faced a Corsair team it had defeated in the regular season back in October, 16-13. The Owls never trailed by more than three and continued to push late, but were unable to find the equalizer down the stretch.

Sophomore Trace Faskell led Citrus with a standout line of six goals, two assists, four steals, two ejections drawn and a block. Morrison Villas added four goals, two assists and an ejection drawn. Liam Ross and Ethan Gregory each scored once, while goalkeeper Jason Nonis recorded 16 saves on 29 shots in the cage.

Over the course of the season, Faskell paced the Owls offensively with 99 goals, 52 assists, 68 steals and eight blocks. Ross finished with 94 goals, 71 assists, 69 ejections drawn, 31 steals and four blocks. Villas totaled 49 goals, 30 assists, 24 steals, 20 ejections drawn and 13 blocks, while Gregory posted 13 goals and 26 assists, and Noah Guzman added nine goals and 24 assists. Nonis anchored the defense all season long, making 238 saves while starting all 23 games.

Citrus now turns its focus toward off-season development and conditioning as preparations begin for the 2026 campaign.
