Owls Split Four Games at Riverside

Citrus College Men's Water Polo competed at the Riverside City College Tournament last Friday, October 11th and Saturday, October 12th, winning two of their four games. 

The Owls got their four-game RCC Tournament slate underway against LA Valley College, a game in which they lost 26-7. Trace Faskell and Liam Ross each scored two goals while Tommy Gibson, Joseph Mikhail, and Aiden Herald each scored one goal. 

Citrus' next game was an afternoon matchup with Palomar College, a close game that resulted in a 9-8 loss. The Owls were led by Tommy Gibson who scored five goals and Liam Ross who scored two goals and added three assists. Goalie Brian Delama recorded 12 saves on the 21 shots he faced. 

On Saturday, the Owls turned things around by defeating Chaffey College 14-8. Seven Owls scored in the game including six goals from Tommy Gibson and three goals from Aiden Herald. Liam Ross had three assists in the game while Devon Dow and Adam Herald each recorded three steals to lead the team. In goal, Joseph Mikhail recorded seven saves while Brian Delama recorded four saves in the win. 

The final game of the Owls' weekend came against Merced, a team they defeated 21-11 back in August at the Merced Tournament. Citrus earned a 15-8 win behind eight goals from Trace Faskell, three goals from Devon Dow and two goals from Adam Herald. Goalie Brian Delama recorded 10 saves while George Mikhail recorded two saves in the game. 

After the Riverside City Tournament, Citrus College sits at 13-6 overall on the year as they prepare to travel to San Luis Obispo this weekend to compete in the Cuesta College Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
