Jimenez Takes Over Citrus Men’s Soccer Program as Head Coach

Citrus College has named former Citrus College women's soccer assistant coach Steve Jimenez as head coach of the men's soccer program ahead of the 2026 fall season.

"What excites me most about taking over the men's soccer program is the opportunity to build a culture that student-athletes are proud to be a part of," Jimenez said.

Jimenez brings a championship pedigree and extensive coaching experience across the high school, collegiate and club levels to Citrus.

A Citrus College graduate, Jimenez earned his degree in kinesiology and has been a key part of the Owls' women's soccer program since 2017. During his tenure as an assistant coach, Citrus captured a conference championship in 2019 and made seven postseason appearances, establishing itself as a consistent contender in Southern California.

"Success isn't just measured by wins and losses," Jimenez said. "It's about developing young men who are accountable, disciplined and committed to excellence both on the field and in the classroom."

Prior to Citrus, Jimenez served as an assistant coach at Cerritos College from 2014 to 2017, contributing to one of the most successful stretches in program history. During his time on staff, Cerritos won three state championships and two national titles.

In addition to his collegiate experience, Jimenez has achieved significant success at the high school level. Since 2020, he has led the Bishop Amat boys program to two CIF championships and one state title, earning CIF Coach of the Year honors three times. He also took over the Bishop Amat girls program in 2022, guiding the team to three Del Rey League championships.

At the club level, Jimenez has served as director of coaching for FC Man United since 2024, leading teams to both State Cup and National League titles.

As a player, Jimenez competed at Army in 2000 and was a two-time Montview League MVP at Sierra Vista High School (1999 and 2000). He also participated in the Olympic Development Program from 1998 to 1999.

"We are excited to have Steve at the helm of our men's soccer program. His championship pedigree speaks for itself," said Citrus College Dean of Kinesiology and Athletics Junior Domingo.
