The loss moves the Owls to 0-4-1 on the season, while LA City improves to 2-1 overall.

The Cubs struck first in the 20th minute and doubled their lead just 10 minutes later. Citrus responded before halftime when Richard Chanelo connected on a perfectly timed header off a cross from Kevin Cardenas in the 38th minute, cutting the deficit to 2-1 and notching his first goal of the season.

Despite battling defensively in the second half, the Owls were unable to generate a shot on goal. LA City put the match out of reach in the 76th minute with their third goal.
