Citrus Finishes Ninth at Regionals; Gahshan Moves On to State Championship

Citrus College Men's Golf competed in the 3C2A Men's Golf Southern California Regional Championships at Olivas Links Golf Course in Ventura, CA on Monday, May 4, finsihing in 9th place as a team with a combined score of +50, through two rounds (+26 in round 1, +24 in round 2).

In the opening round, Citrus was led by Cameron Vollaro, who carded a 4-over-par 76. Javier Alvarado followed with a 77, while Andrew Gahshan added a 78. Will Middleton rounded out the scoring four with an 81 as the Owls combined for a 312 team score.

Angel Caro (82) and TJ Holstrom (83) competed but were not included in the team total.

In the second round, Gahshan paced Citrus with the low round of the day, firing a 1-under-par 71. Alvarado turned in a 78, while Middleton posted an 80 to count toward the team score. Citrus finished the round with a 314.

Caro (85), Holstrom (88) and Vollaro (92) competed but did not factor into the team scoring in round two.

Citrus concluded the tournament at 24-over-par in round one and 26-over in round two, showing consistency across both days at Olivas Links.

With his performance on Monday, Andrew Gahshan has qualified for the 3C2A State Championships that will take place at SilverRock Resort in La Quinta on Sunday, May 10 and Monday May 11.
