Amiri Meadows Earns WSC Athlete of the Month Honors for March
Men's Basketball starting guard Amiri Meadows earned Western State Conference Athlete of the Month honors for March.
Meadows played a key role in the Owls' postseason run, which included a 3C2A State Championship Final Four appearance.
In Citrus' 3C2A Southern California Regional Final win over Mt. San Antonio on March 7, Meadows scored a team-high 25 points on 10-of-15 shooting, adding four rebounds, three assists, two steals, and one block to help clinch a berth in the 3C2A Men's Basketball State Championship Tournament at College of the Sequoias in Visalia.
In the Owls' dominant 84-54 3C2A State Championship Quarterfinal victory over West Valley College, Meadows tied for the team lead with 16 points, shooting 4-of-7 from the field and a perfect 7-of-7 from the free throw line. He also recorded a game-high four steals and added two assists.
For the second consecutive year, the Owls faced City College of San Francisco in the 3C2A State Championship Semifinals. Despite a narrow two-point loss, Meadows finished with 14 points, a team-high four assists, and three rebounds.
During the playoff run, Meadows averaged 30 minutes per game, 18.3 points on 58.1% shooting from the field and 33.3% from three-point range, along with 2.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game.
Meadows was also named Western State Conference South Defensive Player of the Year and earned All-Conference First Team honors.
