Citrus College Football Set to Host 2025 Golden State Bowl Presented by Raising Cane’s
After a strong finish to the 2025 season, Citrus College Football has been selected to host the 2025 Golden State Bowl, presented by Raising Cane's, at Citrus Stadium on Saturday, November 22 at 1 p.m.
The Owls (6-4 overall), ranked No. 20 in the final 2025 regular season CCCFCA coaches poll, will welcome the No. 23-ranked Pasadena City College Lancers (5-5) to Glendora. Both teams enter the Golden State Bowl riding two-game winning streaks. Citrus closed out the regular season with back-to-back conference victories over Santa Barbara City College and Allan Hancock College, scoring more than 50 points in each contest. Pasadena City capped its season with consecutive wins over Orange Coast College and East Los Angeles College.
After missing out on a bowl berth last season, the Owls now face the defending 2024 SCFA American Division Championship Bowl champions, as Pasadena City went 11-0 last season and defeated Chaffey College 23-14 to claim the title.
Saturday's matchup is expected to feature plenty of offense. Both teams average close to 400 yards of total offense per game — Citrus at 405 yards and PCC at 399 yards — while scoring over 30 points per game (Citrus 35.0, PCC 33.0). Defensively, Pasadena City has held opponents to just 20.8 points per game, while Citrus opponents have averaged 34.8 points per contest.
The Owls are led by freshman quarterback Brian Salazar Jr., who finished the regular season ranked in the top five in the state in both passing yards per game (283.3) and passing touchdowns (32). Freshman wide receiver Cameron Bateman has also been a standout, ranking fourth in the state in both touchdown receptions (13) and total catches (60), while averaging 92.2 receiving yards per game — eighth-best in the state.
For Pasadena City, key contributors include linebacker Coleman Morning, tight end Javery Mayberry, and running back/return specialist Noah Triplett, who ranks third in the SCFA in all-purpose yardage (136.9 yards per game).
The Golden State Bowl will mark the ninth all-time meeting between the two programs, with Pasadena City holding a 5–3 series advantage. The teams last met in 2021, when the Lancers defeated the Owls 30–27 in Pasadena during Head Coach Brandon Hayashi's first season at the helm for Citrus College.
