Six More Owls Will Continue Collegiate Careers
Six Citrus College Football athletes will continue their collegiate careers at the next level.
Samuel Archie, Jesse Carmona, Dominic Garcia, David Guerrero, Kannon Katzer and Cody Stordahl are all set to compete at the next level this fall.
Archie, sophomore offensive lineman, who helped an Owls offense that averaged 370.8 yards per game during the 2023 season is headed to Northeastern State University.
Carmona, sophomore wide receiver, played in 21 games during his two-year career at Citrus College where he scored 11 touchdowns and averaged 54.5 receiving yards per game on 3.7 receptions per game. The standout wide receiver earned National Division, Central League offense second-team honors in 2023 while leading the Owls with 45 receptions, totaling 646 receiving yards on the season. Carmona will continue his colligate career at Colorado Mesa University.
Dominic Garcia, sophomore defensive back, played in 15 games for the Owls over the 2022 and 2023 seasons where he racked up 26 total tackles, three tackles for loss, three interceptions and five pass breakups. Garcia will be playing for the Mustangs of Western New Mexico University this fall.
Guerrero, sophomore offensive lineman, played in 9 games over the 2022 and 2023 seasons helping the Owls average 35.8 points per game in 2022 and 32.5 points per game in 2023. Guerrero is set to play for Roosevelt University this upcoming season.
Katzer, sophomore running back, earned all-conference offensive first-team honors in 2023 while racking up 16 touchdowns which led the conference (second in State). He averaged 88.6 rushing yards per game in 2023 which ranked second in the National-Central League and was good for 15th in the 3C2A. Katzer also earned second team honors as an all-purpose player as he averaged 107 all-purpose yards per game, catching 25 passes with two receiving touchdowns. Kannon is headed to Ferris State University where he looks to continue being a useful weapon out of the backfield.
Stordahl, sophomore linebacker, played in 21 games over his two-year career at Citrus College. Over the 2022 and 2023 seasons he recorded 82 total tackles, three sacks, 7.5 tackles for loss and one interception. Cody is headed north to Minnesota to play for the University of St. Thomas this fall.
