Three Owls Named All-State

Glendora, CA -- For the second straight year, the Citrus College Football team had a trio of players named All-State. Sophomore's Kenyatta Johnson and Braxton Brown along with freshman Charles Flowers were all named California Community College Football Coaches Association Region IV All-California 1st-Team Defense.

All three selections were members of one of the top defenses in Southern California. Sophomore defensive end Kenyatta Johnson led the team with 12 sacks on the year, the most by an Owl since Nick Serfas' 16 in 1990. Freshman Charles Flowers and sophomore Braxton Brown meanwhile were one of the top cornerback tandems in the State combining for 61 tackles, eight interceptions, and 18 pass break-ups. Flower's five interceptions this season were the most by an Owl since 2010, and Brown's 13 pass deflections is the second most in program history.
