Casado Earns CCCBCA SoCal Player of the Week Honors After Dominant Series
Sophomore first baseman Cam Casado earned CCCBCA Southern California Player of the Week honors for the week of April 6–12.
Casado helped lead No. 10-ranked Citrus College Baseball to a sweep of Antelope Valley College, finishing the series 6-for-11 with four home runs, a double, five runs scored, six RBIs, three walks, and a stolen base.
In game one at home on Tuesday, April 7, Casado went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBIs while recording three putouts at first base.
In game two's 5-4 win at Antelope Valley College, he delivered the go-ahead, game winning home run in the top of the ninth inning on a deep shot to center field and added 11 putouts defensively at first base.
In game three back at Citrus College, Casado went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored, two RBIs, and two walks, along with four more putouts at first.
On the season, Casado is slashing .427/.473/.812 with 11 home runs (fifth in the state), 45 RBIs, 33 runs scored, and seven stolen bases, while posting a .996 fielding percentage.
The Owls are 26-10 overall and will host LA Valley College on Saturday, April 18, looking to secure their second consecutive conference series sweep.
