  • Nua Named NFCA All-American
    May 17, 2017
    Glendora, CA - Citrus College sophomore first baseman Jade Nua was named a National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American recently. Nua earned the honors after a historic 2017 campaign, in which she was named the Western State Conference East Player of the Year, and a California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association All-State selection. She is just the fifth player in Citrus College Softball history to earn the honor.
  • Owls Fantastic 2017 Comes to End at Cerritos

    Norwalk, CA - The Citrus College Softball team’s fantastic 2017 campaign came to an end on Saturday afternoon. The Owls were mercied for the second straight day by #7 seed Cerritos College, 9-1 in six innings ending their post-season run in the regional round.

    Cerritos, CA - The Citrus College Softball team gave up five doubles and committed five errors and were mercy ruled on Friday afternoon in the first game of their best 2-of-3 series with #7 Cerritos College in the opening round of the 2017 CCCAA Southern California Playoffs. The Owls managed just as many hits and they committed errors and fell in five innings 14-4.
  • Regional Round Preview: #10 Citrus College at #7 Cerritos College

    A preview of this weekend’s regional round best two-of-three series between #10 Citrus College and #7 Cerritos College in Norwalk in the 2017 California Community College Athletic Association Southern California Playoffs. Game #1 is set for a 2:00 PM first pitch on Friday, while Game #2 is one for 12:00 PM on Saturday with a third and final tilt set 20 minutes following game two if necessary.
  • 10 Owls Named to All-WSC East Team; Nua is WSC East Player of the Year & All-State

    Glendora, CA - After a 2017 season in which the Citrus College Softball team went 24-14 and 13-5 in WSC East play for second place, the Owls had 10 players named to the All-WSC East team. That included sophomore Jade Nua whose outstanding 2017 campaign got her named Co-MVP of the WSC East and an California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association All-State selection.
  • Owls Softball Back in Post-Season

    Glendora, CA - After a year’s absence, the Citrus College Softball team is back in the California Community College Athletic Association Southern California Softball Playoffs. The Owls earned the #10 overall seed and will travel to #7 Cerritos College for a best two out of three series this weekend.

    Lancaster, CA - The Citrus College Softball team went into Tuesday’s double-header knowing that they couldn’t claim a WSC East crown, but that they could improve their position in the upcoming CCCAA Playoffs. While the Owls may have made a statement that their offense is for real, they couldn’t hold off a very good Marauder squad who rallied for two wins against the Owls on Tuesday 14-10 and 17-16.

    Glendora, CA - The Citrus College Softball team ended their 2017 home slate with a bang on Thursday afternoon. The Owls routed visiting Los Angeles Valley College 16-0, using 12 hits, half of which went for extra bases.

    Glendale, CA - The Citrus College Softball team took two at Glendale College on Tuesday afternoon. The Owls started slow but won going away in the first game, and used a three run seventh in the second game to secure a one run victory.
  • Nua Named February Female State Athlete of the Month

    Citrus College Sophomore Jade Nua was recently named the California Community College Athletic Association and California Community College Sports Information Association Female State Athlete of the Month for her outstanding month of February. Nua is just fifth Citrus student-athlete to win the award in it's 12-year history.

    Glendora, CA - In an important Western State Conference East Division match-up, the Owls took hold of second place in the conference with a 11-3 six-inning mercy rule win over visiting College of the Canyons. Citrus came up with 12 hits, and held a tough Cougar offense to just three scores in the win.

    Glendora, CA ­- The Citrus College Softball team swept visiting Victor Valley College in Western State Conference East Division action on Tuesday afternoon. The Owls outscored the Rams 22-2, winning both games 11-2 in five innings.

    Torrance, CA - The Citrus College Softball team, ranked #10 in the State, fell to State #6 El Camino College twice on Friday afternoon. The Owls lost in the bottom of the seventh inning of Game #1, 12-11 before losing in six-innings in Game #2 12-4.

    Glendora, CA - Needing a big win to keep pace with visiting Antelope Valley College in the early goings of the Western State Conference South Division standings, the Citrus College Softball team just couldn’t get the hits it needed when it needed them. The Owls rolled up 10 hits, but stranded nine base runners and were held to just one run in a 7-1 loss to the Marauders.

    Santa Clarita, CA - In their key early double-header against College of the Canyons in WSC South play, the Owls fell in an early 8-0 hole in Game #1. Shortly after falling behind, the skies opened up, and the game would be postponed until the following Monday. That postponement proved pivotal overall, as the postponement possibly stopped some key Cougar momentum, thus allowing the Owls to salvage a split on Monday afternoon against Canyons.

    Glendora, CA - The Citrus College Softball team made it four straight victories on Thursday afternoon with a 9-1 mercy rule win over visiting Glendale College. The Owls largely took advantage of eight Vaquero errors, but got what they needed when they needed it in the eight run win.

    Victorville, CA - The Citrus College Softball team, ranked #10 in the State, exploded for a season high 24 runs on Thursday afternoon when they headed out to Victor Valley College for a WSC East contest. Citrus scored runs in each of the first four innings on their way to a 24-0 win.

    Cypress, CA - Headed into Thursday afternoon’s double-header with then State #3 Cypress College, the Citrus College Softball team knew they would have their hands full when it came to one of the top teams in the State. The Owls were exactly right as they kept things close with the Chargers until late in each of the two games, but each time the Chargers hit another gear Citrus couldn’t match in a 6-2 and 8-2 loss.
  • Owls Late Rally Gives Them Win Over Huskies

    Glendora, CA - It took a while for their offense to get warmed up, but once they did, the Citrus College Softball team put together a late rally to defeat visiting East Los Angeles College 6-3. The Owls scored five of their six runs in the fifth and sixth innings to give them the win over the Huskies.
  • Softball Sweeps Gades in Walk-Off Fashion

    Glendora, CA - The Citrus College Softball team played host to Bakersfield College on Tuesday evening and sent the visiting Gades home with a pair of sweeps, both in walk-off fashion. Citrus dominated the first game, and had to fend off a feisty Bakersfield squad in game two but was able to end it in the sixth.
  • Softball Wins Another Thriller With Extra Inning Walk-Off Win Over Santa Ana

    Glendora, CA - The Citrus College Softball team did it again on Thursday night when they payed host to Santa Ana College. The Owls rallied from an early hole to force extra innings before winning the game in walk-off fashion in their 11-10 win over the Dons.

    Whittier, CA - After losing three straight contests, the Citrus College Softball team bounced back with a vengeance on Wednesday afternoon. The Owls exploded for 16 hits and scored a season high 19 runs in a 19-0 win over host Rio Hondo College.

    Glendora, CA - After a disastrous showing the previous day, the Citrus College Softball team had to turn around 24 hours later and host defending CCCAA State Champs and SoCal Pre-Season #1 SoCal Santiago Canyon College. Despite losing both games, the Owls proved they belonged losing 14-15 and 4-9.
  • A Taste of Their Own Medicine

    Glendora, CA - After looking impressive through their first three games and more often than not being the hammer and not the nail, Citrus got a taste of their own medicine on Wednesday afternoon when they were mercy ruled by visiting Fullerton College. The Owls committed a miserable seven errors and just weren’t right throughout in a 14-2 loss.

    Glendora, CA - The Citrus College Softball team opened up their 2017 home schedule late Friday afternoon when they hosted Pre-Season State #5 and SoCal #3 Palomar College in a double-header. It was an exciting affair in both contests as the Owls walk-offed both contests.
