  • Men’s Water Polo Adds Eight to All-WSC List

    Glendora, CA - The Citrus College Men’s Water Polo program added eight individuals to the All-Western State Conference list recently. Citrus had four 1st team selections and two each on the 2nd and Honorable Mention teams.
  • Valley Ends Owls Season in OT

    Huntington Beach, CA - For the second straight season, conference rival Los Angeles Valley College ended the Citrus College Men’s Water Polo team’s season in the Southern California regionals. This year, the Owls had to score late to send the game into overtime, before running out of gas in the extra two frames in a 18-16 setback.
  • Men’s Water Polo In Post-Season for Third Straight Year

    Glendora, CA - For the third straight year, the Citrus College Men’s Water Polo program has qualified for the California Community College Athletic Association Southern California Regionals. The Owls earned the #9 overall seed and will be pitted against #8 Los Angeles Valley College.
  • A Familiar Foe

    Cuesta, CA – Heading into the 2016 Western State Conference Championships the Citrus College Men’s Water Polo team had a right to be optimistic about their chances for their first conference title since 2002. The Owls finished the dual part of the season in a three-way tie for first place, and the Owls were one of the favorites. In the semi-finals Citrus avenged their lone conference loss over Ventura College, but in the Championship Game they faced a familiar foe. Instead of celebrating their first title in a decade and a half, the Owls were left empty handed once again thanks to Los Angeles Valley College.
  • Owls Close Out Regular Season with Rout of Santa Monica

    Glendora, CA - The Citrus College Men’s Water Polo team closed out their regular season on Wednesday afternoon with a route of Santa Monica College in Western State Conference action. The Owls scored the first six points and never looked back in a 23-7 victory.
  • Owls Knock-Off First Place Cuesta in OT

    San Luis Obispo, CA - With one of the top three seeds in the upcoming Western State Conference Championship tournament on the line, the Citrus College Men’s Water Polo team picked up arguably one of its best wins of the year on Wednesday afternoon when they made the long trek up to San Luis Obispo to take on Cuesta College. The Owls defeated the Cougars, who were all alone in first place prior to the game, in an overtime thriller 14-13.
  • Wong Named September State Athlete of the Month

    Glendora, CA - Citrus College freshman water polo player Jonathan Wong has been named the California Community College Sports Information Association California Community College Athletic Association Male Athlete of the Month, for the month of September. Wong is just the fourth Citrus College Student-Athlete to earn the award since it began back in the Fall of 2005.
  • Owls Sweep Fullerton Mini

    Fullerton, CA - The Citrus College Men’s Water Polo team closed out it’s non-conference schedule over the weekend when it took part in the Fullerton Mini-Tournament. The Owls swept the day defeating Grossmont 14-9 and Fullerton 15-12.
  • Owls Outlast LA Valley for First Win Over Monarchs in Six Years

    Glendora, CA - For the last six years, there has been no tougher opponent for the Citrus College Men’s Water Polo team than Los Angeles Valley College. In that span, the Owls owned at least one victory over the other three Western State Conference teams, but hadn’t beaten the Monarchs since 2009. Citrus finally snapped that streak on Wednesday afternoon when they outlasted a scrappy LA Valley squad 13-11.
  • Owls Take Lumps at CalBap Tournament

    Riverside, CA - Facing some of the top four-year schools not only in Southern California but in the nation, the Citrus College Men’s Water Polo took their lumps over the weekend in going 0-4. Citrus lost to NCAA #14 California Baptist in the opener, as well as to NCAA DIII #4 University of Redlands, NCAA DIII #1 Pomona-Pitzer College, and Chapman University.
  • Scoring Drought

    Ventura, CA - After jumping out to a 4-1 lead against Ventura College in their Western State Conference opener, the Citrus College Men’s Water Polo team experienced arguably their worst scoring drought of the 2016 season. The Owls went approximately 13 minutes worth of game action without scoring, while the Pirates scored eight unanswered and never looked back in handing Citrus a 8-10 loss.
  • Owls Wrap-Up Perfect Weekend with Two More Wins

    San Diego, CA - The Citrus College Men’s Water Polo team wrapped up a perfect weekend at the South of the Border Invitational with two more wins on Saturday afternoon. The Owls defeated Fullerton College 19-11 and then beat a tough San Diego State University Club team 16-10 in the weekend finale.
  • Owls Roll South of Border With Pair of Wins

    San Diego, CA - The Citrus College Men’s Water Polo team headed South on Friday afternoon for the first day of the South of the Border Invitational co-hosted by San Diego Mesa College and San Diego Miramar College. The Owls opened up the week by rolling to a pair of wins at San Diego Mesa College, the first a 15-9 victory over the host Olympians and the second a 19-8 victory over El Camino College.
  • Owls Struggle Late Against Top NCAA DIII School in Country

    Whittier, CA - The Citrus College Men’s Water Polo team headed down the 605 freeway on Tuesday evening to take on the top NCAA DIII Men’s Water Polo program in the country when they took on Whittier College. The Poets, who were just outside the NCAA Top 20 which ranks all water polo programs from all NCAA levels, actually trailed Citrus at the break 7-6, but turned up the heat on Citrus in the second half as the Owls lost 16-11.
  • Come Back and Come Down

    Glendora, CA – The Citrus College Men's Water Polo team experienced the best of times and the worst of times on Saturday afternoon during the final day of the 43rd Annual Mt. San Antonio College Men's Water Polo Tournament that they co-hosted over the weekend. The Owls had a come back in their opener with Sierra College, but experienced a come down in the finale against Orange Coast College where they squandered a three goal lead at the half in an eventual loss.
  • Owls Edge Saddleback but Falter Against Palomar in Mt. SAC Tourney Openers

    Glendora, CA – Staying on their home deck where they were 5-0 to start the year, the Citrus College Men's Water Polo team opened up the Mt. SAC Tournament in Glendora by edging Saddleback College. The Owls weren't so lucky later in the afternoon however as Palomar College used a big second quarter to sink the Owls 20-18.
  • Men's Water Polo Outlasts NCAA DIII La Verne
    September 14, 2016
    Glendora, CA – After jumping out to a 7-3 halftime lead, the Citrus College Men's Water Polo team had to hold on for dear life over the final 16 minutes of action, outlasting NCAA DIII University of La Verne 14-12.
  • Owls Go 4-2 on Opening Weekend

    Huntington Beach & Glendora, CA – The Citrus College Men’s Water Polo team opened up their 2016 season over the weekend participating in the Golden West College Mini-Tournament on Friday morning and then hosting their annual tournament on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. The Owls got off to a rough start in a pair of losses at GWC, but rebounded with four straight wins back at home to go 4-2 on the weekend.
